Our most memorable event from 2025 was the Birthright walkathon hosted in June. Our wonderful supporters joined together for a 3 km walk around Queen Elizabeth Park in its spring glory!. We raised money, but most importantly, we raised our hearts to all the mothers and children we helped this year. We will have another walk this year on June 13, 2026, and hope to see you there (details are above).
This past year marked my first year serving as director of the Birthright Vancouver office, and I am grateful to share some of our key accomplishments, challenges, and goals from 2025. Despite being a small team, it has been a busy and meaningful year supporting pregnant women and their babies through emotional support, listening, and the provision of essential supplies.
During the year, the office received 224 phone calls, welcomed 23 new clients, and conducted 21 pregnancy tests. Over 60 visits were made to the office for supplies and support, with assistance provided to both single and non-single mothers, as well as medical referrals when needed.
One of the main challenges we experienced was a reduction in volunteers, which significantly impacted office hours. However, we are grateful for new volunteers who joined the team, including Rick, Carolina, and Suzanne, as well as three new volunteers currently in training. One of them will begin covering Saturday hours, offering greater accessibility for working clients.
Highlights of the year included a successful lunch and talk for mothers and babies, the Walkathon, the Birthright Mass at Holy Rosary Cathedral, and participation in the Birthright Conference in Nashville. Although our resources may be limited, with the support of our donors, volunteers, and God’s grace, we continue to serve women in need. Our ongoing goal remains recruiting more volunteers to better support the families who reach out to us.
Yours in faith,
Ada

“Volunteering at Birthright has shown me that making a difference isn’t about having the right answers but about being present. Sometimes it’s as simple as listening, offering a tissue or showing kindness in small ways. Walking alongside mothers on their journeys has deepened my empathy and reminded me how powerful compassion and presence can be. A beautiful reminder that sometimes the greatest gift we can give is simply our presence.” — C
“I just wanted to thank you for the love and trust Birthright has shown me, especially for the patience. It was a beautiful experience that God wanted to give me in helping with this ministry. I hope I’ve been of help to the beautiful mothers and their babies.” — L
“Because of a personal experience I had as a young, unmarried female, I wished to pay my good fortune forward and give back through Birthright as a volunteer. Now that I have 4 children and grandchildren, I am motivated to help women approach their unique situations in life.” — Z

“I want to thank Birthright for all the help and support my family and I have received over the past two years. We are incredibly grateful for everything Birthright has done for us and for making us feel we were not alone during the process of starting our family. We were in a difficult situation when we learned we were pregnant, and Birthright opened the door for us. Now our beautiful boy is two years old and is the happiest child in the world. Thank you to everyone at Birthright and to the donors for making such a meaningful difference for families.” — R
“During one of the hardest moments in my life, I found out I was pregnant while facing financial and immigration challenges. Although we were happy, we knew it would be difficult. That’s when Birthright became a source of hope and support. Through emotional, spiritual, and financial assistance, Birthright gave us peace of mind during an uncertain time. Today, my baby is one year old, and I am deeply grateful—without Birthright, this journey would not have been possible.” — SM
